about unity

The Unity Difference

At Unity Behavioral Health, we believe that healing happens when every aspect of a person’s well-being is cared for. Mental health does not exist in isolation—it is deeply connected to physical health, relationships, family, work, and the everyday experiences that shape our lives. That’s why we are committed to treating the whole person, not just a diagnosis or a set of symptoms.

Our approach is rooted in the understanding that emotional and physical health influence one another. Individuals living with mental health conditions are more likely to experience chronic medical conditions, while those managing physical illnesses often face increased rates of anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. Research continues to demonstrate that integrating behavioral healthcare with primary care leads to improved health outcomes, greater patient satisfaction, and a higher quality of life.

At Unity Behavioral Health, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. When appropriate, we coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, schools, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals to ensure every client receives comprehensive, seamless care. For individuals who do not have a primary care provider, our team can help connect them with trusted medical professionals so both their behavioral and physical health needs are supported.

Why Integrated Care Matters

Research highlights the importance of treating both mental and physical health together:

  • Approximately 68% of adults living with a mental health condition also have at least one chronic physical health condition.
  • Nearly 29% of adults with chronic medical conditions experience a co-occurring mental health disorder.
  • Behavioral health concerns are frequently first identified in primary care or emergency department settings, demonstrating the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers.
  • Individuals living with serious mental illness face significantly higher rates of preventable physical health conditions, emphasizing the need for coordinated, whole-person care.

These findings reinforce what we see every day: when behavioral and physical healthcare work together, individuals are better equipped to achieve lasting recovery and improved overall wellness.

Our Commitment to Whole-Person Wellness
